The Phares Zero Speed Switch Sensor Model ZS09R is a self-contained device that combines sensor and relay for use in over speed, under speed, and zero speed monitoring. It protects your conveyor or other industrial machinery when it slows down, or stops unexpectedly. The ZS09R Zero Speed Switch Sensor has an adjustable set point for precise, accurate and reliable speed measurement, and reacts quickly if your machine slows down, or stops unexpectedly.
The ZS09R Zero Speed Switch Sensor looks like a prox switch, but incorporates intelligent speed sensing circuitry not found in simple on/off devices. When machine shaft speed reaches the set point, the ZS09R Zero Speed Switch relay output changes state. It remains in this state until under either speed or zero speed condition occurs.
The ZS09R Zero Speed Sensor is designed for switching logic inputs (PLC, VFD, DCS, etc.). For switching higher amperage circuits, please see our ZS09P Zero Speed Switch Sensor. The ZS09R ZSS senses both magnetic and high iron content targets such as a gear tooth, bolt head, key stock, etc.
Outputs are isolated making it easy to incorporate into new or existing systems, or replace an inferior quality or obsolete sensor.
Install at the load pulley on augers, bucket elevators, conveyors, exhaust fans, turbines, and many other applications where machine shaft speed monitoring is needed.
